Where are we on the path toward a carbon-free energy system?

Destination 2050 is focus of DISTRIBUTECH / POWERGEN conference and leadership summit

By 2050, if all of the climate-change related pledges and regulations take effect as currently planned, we should be living in a clean-energy powered world with a fully carbon-free electricity system powering fully electrified transportation, industrial and building sectors. But we certainly have much to do to put all of that in place.

Indeed, we are arguably amidst the greatest energy transition of all time.

Destination 2050 is the overarching theme of DISTRIBUTECH and POWERGEN International, during which energy stakeholders from all over the world will convene in Dallas, Texas from January 26-28, for education, networking, and business (and some fun, too). These two co-located international events are replete everything a busy executive could possibly need to fully understand not only the current state of the energy industry, but more importantly, where it is headed. Peer-to-peer executive level networking

The Leadership Summit, which begins on January 27, will feature thought-leadership roundtable-style discussions with executives from the federal government, power generation, distribution utilities, and major corporations. The keynote session will cover Power Challenges Bigger than Texas: Meeting the needs of Resource Adequacy, Climate Action and Resiliency in the Net-Zero Future with former Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and ERCOT Interim CEO Brad Jones from 1:15pm – 2:15pm. Following that session will be Decarbonization – Getting to 2035: Technology Interdependencies and Options, which will offer a view “from the trenches” by power producers across the globe. The summit will close with a second session on Decarbonization – Getting to 2035: Technology Interdependencies and Options, which will focus on the policy and the view from DC.

 Additional sessions include:

With a new infrastructure deal recently passed by the US government and a riveting COP26 leaving the world with dire warnings about climate change impacts and the massive mitigation efforts that are needed, there is no better time to attend DISTRIBUTECH & POWERGEN 2022.

See you in Dallas!
